The basis for Project Based Learning (PBL) is for students to be able to dig deeper into aspects of the subject that interest them. I am always willing to hear ideas for options that are not listed. For any video projects I do have a green screen available.
Report (1 page, double spaced, 12pt font)
Book Report - Any book set in or covering a topic from that time period. Examples: The Jungle by Upton Sinclair, The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, Night by Elie Weisel (read it for an English class and give me the book report too...)
Speech - Persuasive, Argumentative, Informative... if it's a topic that is also covered by our history book, I'll cooperate with Mrs. DeBoer.
Movie Review - I will write up a form with questions for you to answer
Interview - Either a written script or a video. Could be of an actual person, or historical person.
Commercial - Written or video for a product from the historical era we are addressing
News Report - Written or video for an event in history (major or minor) in the time we are covering.
Brochure - Sales flier for any business, product, or politician in the appropriate era.
Presentation - Video, quiz, project board, Powerpoint. You get the idea
Poster - Drawn, printed and cut and paste, show me what you are interested and give me details.
Biography - Summary of the life and actions of a fascinating person from the era. Again, written, video, timeline poster, get creative.
Diorama - Shoebox recreation, pizza box, life size with old store mannequins, you do you boo.
